Portfolio and Background

I have been drawing and creating this portfolio pretty much since I could hold a pencil. Thinking back, I remember sitting in church with a little spiral bound notebook, trying to draw my horses. I spent a lot of time as a kid drawing, I had to spend a lot of time sitting still or waiting in doctors’ offices, I couldn’t carry a lot around and my family didn’t have a lot of electronics. After a few years, I discovered I had a bit of a knack for it, so I kept doing it. Now I like to draw before bed to relax.

I also enjoy painting, although I’m not as experienced with it as I am with other mediums. Lately, I love experimenting with different paint types and techniques. It’s fun to try and mix things up, like combining watercolor and pent/marker details, or adding texture to a painting with sparkles or sand. I also like to try drawing with a variety of different tools, such as pens, pencils, charcoal, and markers. I’m still learning, but I love the process of creating something. I’m always trying to improve my skills and create something that’s unique and special.
